Sao Paulo, Brazil's largest city, has reelected Ricardo Nunes as its mayor in a tumultuous campaign that saw him go against a leftist ally of former President Lula. Nunes, who inherited the position after Bruno Covas' passing, emerged victorious with almost 60% of the vote. In his victory speech, he distanced himself from President Bolsonaro, not mentioning him as one of the contributors to his win. Instead, Nunes championed Sao Paulo Governor Tarcisio de Freitas, an ally of the far-right leader.
