The number of homeless youth without access to shelter is on the rise in New York City. According to new data released by the Department of Youth and Community Development, over 1,100 young people between the ages of 16 and 24 were sent back to the streets between January and July of this year. This increase is largely attributed to the ongoing asylum-seeker crisis.
